Furnished Waterfront Monthly Rentals Near Annapolis & DC

Sometimes you are not looking for a weekend away.

You need a place to live for a while.

Maybe you are relocating, renovating your home, working temporarily in the area, finishing a writing project, welcoming a new baby, moving through a major life transition, or simply realizing that you would like to spend a season closer to nature.

During late fall, winter, and early spring, Chesapeake Paradise may offer one of its furnished waterfront spaces for longer stays of one to six months.

These stays are not simply extended vacations. They are a chance to settle into a quieter rhythm beside the Chesapeake Bay—to wake up near the water, watch the winter light move across the property, and have a peaceful, comfortable place to call home for a while.

Chesapeake Paradise is a two-acre waterfront micro-resort in Deale/Churchton, Maryland, approximately 30 minutes south of Annapolis and within reach of Washington, DC, Baltimore, and Northern Virginia.

Our longer-stay spaces typically include the Waterfront Wonder Cottage or the private Flat + Solarium, depending on availability and what works best for both the guest and the property.

Winter May Be the Most Sparkling Season Here

People often think first about summer when they picture the Chesapeake Bay.

But winter has its own kind of beauty.

The sun sits lower in the sky, sending long stretches of light across the water. Bare branches open up the view. Migrating geese and swans move through the creek. Sunrises and sunsets can feel brighter, clearer, and more reflective against the quiet Bay.

Guests who have stayed during the colder months often mention how peaceful the property feels, how beautiful the water views remain, and how much they enjoy watching birds, weather, and changing light from inside a warm, comfortable space. One winter guest described the Flat as peaceful even in winter and especially enjoyed the views from the Solarium and the hot tub. Another said the Flat was spotless, comfortable, and stocked with everything needed, with sunrise and sunset views that made the stay especially memorable.

This is not the season of rushing from one activity to another.

It is the season of morning coffee by the windows.

Of watching the water change through the day.

Of putting dinner together while the sun begins to lower.

Of stepping outside beneath the stars, soaking in the hot tub, or sitting quietly beside a fire when the weather allows.

The Chesapeake Paradise brand is built around that feeling: slowing down, breathing more deeply, reconnecting with nature, and allowing life to feel less compressed.

Who Chooses a Longer Waterfront Stay?

Over the years, people have come to Chesapeake Paradise for many different reasons.

Some have needed a temporary furnished home while relocating or renovating.

Some have wanted a peaceful place to work remotely or complete a major writing project.

Some have welcomed new babies into the world.

Some have moved through the end of a marriage or another significant transition.

Traveling nurses and other healthcare professionals have also looked for furnished monthly housing near Annapolis and AAMC—a comfortable place to come home to after a long shift.

And some have simply decided they deserved to be closer to nature and restore themselves for a while.

That last reason matters.

Not every longer stay has to begin with a crisis, a move, or a practical necessity.

Sometimes you simply know that your current pace is not serving you.

You want more light.

More quiet.

More room to think.

A view that changes throughout the day.

A place where you can still work, cook, sleep, and live normally—but where the setting gently changes the way your days feel.

Two Furnished Waterfront Spaces

The right accommodation depends on your needs, preferred dates, number of occupants, pets, and what is happening at Chesapeake Paradise during that season.

The Waterfront Wonder Cottage

The Waterfront Wonder Cottage is a private three-bedroom, two-bath home near the water.

It includes:

The Cottage works especially well for someone who wants a conventional full kitchen, laundry inside the home, more bedrooms, or additional room for family members or occasional approved visitors.

The current Cottage setup includes a full kitchen with stove, oven, cookware, dishes, and other everyday cooking essentials, along with a washer/dryer and comfortable living spaces.

It is the kind of place where daily life can still feel practical and grounded—groceries in the kitchen, laundry running, work spread out at the table—but where you can look up and remember that the water is right outside.

The Flat + Solarium

The Flat + Solarium is a private upstairs apartment with its own separate entrance inside Chesapeake Paradise House.

The space combines two connected areas:

The Flat is a large, light-filled studio with skylights, a queen bed, sitting and working areas, a wet-bar kitchen, and a marble bathroom with a deep soaking tub and large shower.

The Solarium is a bright adjoining bedroom and sitting room with windows on three sides, a full bed, its own small balcony, and expansive water and sky views.

The Flat + Solarium also includes:

The Flat does not have a traditional cooktop or oven, so it is best for someone comfortable using a well-equipped kitchenette and small appliances or enjoying some meals at nearby restaurants.

The current guest manual describes it as a private upstairs studio apartment with a separate entrance, Solarium bedroom, wet-bar kitchen, luxury bath, balcony, and Chesapeake Bay views.

For the right person, it can be an unusually peaceful place to write, work remotely, regroup, or simply live more lightly for a season.

A Furnished Place That Still Feels Like Home

Longer-stay guests are not walking into an empty apartment with bare walls and a folding chair.

Both spaces are furnished and designed for real living.

There are dishes, linens, comfortable places to sit, kitchen essentials, water views, Wi-Fi, and the ordinary things that help a temporary home feel settled.

The spaces are distinctive rather than generic. They have warmth, personality, and thoughtful details.

Guests repeatedly describe Chesapeake Paradise as peaceful, welcoming, comfortable, and easy to settle into. Several say it feels like home, while others mention that the setting helped them rest, decompress, reconnect, or move through an important season of life.

That sense of home matters even more when you are staying for a month or longer.

Close Enough to Stay Connected

Chesapeake Paradise feels removed from the noise and speed of city life, but it is not isolated.

The property is near local grocery stores, waterfront restaurants, marinas, and everyday services.

Annapolis is roughly 30 minutes away, while Washington, DC, Baltimore, and Northern Virginia are all within reasonable driving distance for periodic work, appointments, family visits, or city outings.

That makes a longer stay possible for people who still need to remain connected to the region but would rather end each day somewhere peaceful.

You can take care of what needs to be handled elsewhere—and come back to the water.

Life at Chesapeake Paradise During a Longer Stay

A longer stay here is quieter than a summer vacation, but not empty.

Depending on weather, water conditions, and seasonal availability, guests may enjoy:

The hot tub, pier, kayaks, fire pits, and portions of the outdoor grounds are shared amenities, depending on which other spaces are occupied. The accommodations themselves remain private.

Chesapeake Paradise is not a large apartment complex or anonymous corporate rental.

It is a small, personally managed waterfront property.

That creates more warmth and flexibility—but also means the arrangement needs to make sense for everyone involved.

Longer Stays Are Arranged Personally

Longer stays at Chesapeake Paradise are arranged personally rather than booked as a one-size-fits-all monthly rental.

Availability, length of stay, pricing, pets, and the best accommodation depend on what you need—and what is happening at the property during those months.

We begin with a conversation to see whether the arrangement feels right for both sides.

That conversation may include:

Rates are not published as one fixed monthly amount because every stay is different.

Pricing may vary according to the space, dates, length of stay, occupancy, pet arrangements, utilities, and the needs of the guest and property.

Not Every Stay Looks the Same

One guest may need the Cottage for several months while waiting for a home purchase to close.

Another may want the Flat + Solarium for a quiet month of writing.

Someone else may be navigating a separation and need a calm, furnished place to land.

A new parent or grandparent may want to remain near family without moving into their household.

A remote worker may be looking for something more restorative than another temporary apartment.

There is no single “typical” longer-stay guest.

What they often share is the desire for something more personal, more peaceful, and more connected to nature than an ordinary rental.

What a Season by the Water Can Offer

A beautiful setting does not solve every problem.

But it can change the environment in which you meet your life.

It can give you a little more space around your thoughts.

It can make mornings feel gentler.

It can bring you outside when you might otherwise stay indoors all day.

It can remind you that the sky is still changing, the birds are still moving, and the light is still finding its way across the water.

At Chesapeake Paradise, we do not want a longer stay to feel transactional.

We want it to feel thoughtful, comfortable, and mutually supportive.

A place where you can live your real life—while also feeling a little more held by nature.
