What started as my personal sanctuary on the Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay has become a beloved 5-star waterfront retreat for guests from all walks of life.
Chesapeake Paradise is a private 2-acre waterfront micro-resort featuring five signature accommodations—each with its own personality, from intimate, tucked-away retreats to spacious homes made for gathering.

The sunrise views were really quite amazing! The grounds and creek are very nice, but since we visited in winter we just appreciated the huge windows and the bright, cozy, well-stocked, comfortable room. We also loved the huge bathroom and shower that got nice and hot. Shawn was very communicative and everything about our stay was smooth and easy.
The Skylit Flat & Solarium
This was a perfect spot for a short getaway from DC. Shawn was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely love to come back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay the house. the view is every bit as spectacular as described and Shawn is the ultimate hostess. we can recommend this if you are looking in a scenic location within an easy 45 minutes drive to DC.
Beautiful home with a lovely view. The house is very cozy and comfortable, great for entertaining and close to all of the amenities. The scenery is spectacular and relaxing. I could not ask for a more attentive host. Shawn was very friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay very enjoyable. We will definitely be returning.
Our group had such a lovely time at Shawn's home! The space itself was spacious and absolutely beautiful, even in the dead of winter. There were plenty of spaces to gather or take time alone, which was really important for our group. The kitchen was well stocked, and we had an easy time cooking our meals. The bedrooms were all nice and comfortable, and reflected the listing. Shawn was perfectly communicative and made it easy to contact her when necessary. We can't wait to return!
We loved this location! The home was cozy and had very welcoming and homey candlelight when we arrived. Such a beautiful location! We didn’t mind the drive to DC each day because this place was so relaxing and charming to return to each evening. Shawn was immediately responsive to any request we had. We will love to return in the summer months!
This is the perfect place for an indoor vacation with a gorgeous view. The home has everything one could need and the photos do not do the panoramic window view justice. We went during the winter and saw plentiful bird species and hope to return in the summer to enjoy the water activities. Shawn was an amazing host! Highly recommended!
Eight of us (four couples) in our church small group spent a long fall weekend at Shawn's home on the Chesapeake Bay and loved every minute! Shawn was extremely responsive and friendly, and made some great recommendations for local sightseeing that caused us to change our plans. We strongly recommend a stay at this beautiful, well-furnished house in a picture-postcard setting!
