Zero gravity chairs in the foreground and always plenty of places to lounge and set yourself up in sun or shade for a good book, a snooze, or just enjoying the view and breezes.
The sunrise suite looks out of are the expensive waterfront lawn of Chesapeake paradise house and nearby meadows, grasses, and English garden.
Your suite is the one directly above the porch, with spacious balcony with a country-like view (no streetlight; just stars and moon) looking out over the Chesapeake Bay and Broadwater Creek.

Even though I highly recommend moon sparkles, sunrise, and stars, we do provide blinds in all rooms for privacy and some light blocking!
On your left is a TV and under that is a built-in fireplace for warmth and ambiance.

Our blinds are very thin so you can see through them even while they are down.

Sunrise over the Chesapeake Bay and Broadwater Creek from Light Landing. Sip coffee from the pier or gaze at the stars from your skylights...Winter or Summer Folks are just as happy here in this honeymoon/writers/relaxers retreat with amazing views.
Sometimes you'll spot sailing Races on the Bay, or you may want to the many fishing charters that launch just minutes from here... one friend recently caught a 36" Rockfish out in the Bay!
Come be a kid again. Swing, run through the sprinkler, roast marshmallows, have snail races on the pier....

We have three single and one double kayaks and a canoe....complementary for guests use... only a 10-minute paddle to the Bay, or explore both forks of our creek... Broadwater Creek and Pasture Cove. Get close to nature!
Wholesome lawn games like cornhole are available in our “Guest Fun and Supply Center."

Catch & cook Maryland Blue Crabs, have them steamed by local crabbers, or use mallets at one of our local waterfront restaurants.

Upscale luxury. relaxing romantic suite w/spectacular views. 

You won't want to leave your bed/bath! Brand new top floor of fabulous house on lush, waterfront point creates a fun, serene couples/work/spiritual getaway close to D.C., Annapolis, Baltimore. Wet bar kitchen w/modern/retro appliances, Ethernet. High balcony & spacious Primary bath with best water/nature views hands down! Shady lawns, sunny pier, kayaks, firepit, sparkling water & wildlife! Shared entry thru owner's lovely foyer.  

The space "The Sunrise Suite" (SS) Primary Bedroom is the "queen" of Chesapeake Paradise House with its queen-sized bed, windows galore, wet-bar kitchen, built in remote-controlled electric wall fireplace, TV, Bluetooth speakers, and sitting and dining areas. Outdoor lounging/dining on its balcony. SS was designed by a critically acclaimed architect, Steve Terhune.  

It is adorned with a huge Primary bath with a "retro" natural teak vanity, large rain shower (w/shower jets, bench, and grab bars), and a roomy 68” ivory soaking tub. The toilet has spectacular corner-window views of the Bay (best "toilet view" ever!).  

You'll enjoy gorgeous views... take in the moon and stars, sunrise to sunset, especially dazzling in fall and winter. Hang out on the pier for stargazing and bird watching.  Chesapeake Paradise's shady lawn and bright, open spaces, bbq, fire-pit, tree swings, double hammock, English “tree gardens,” kayaks, crabbing, and relaxing pier afford a peaceful and inspirational setting any time of the year for your stay in the Washington Metro area. Also enjoy the bbq grill and table on the screened porch and deck areas.  

We provide helpful amenities for all seasons like throw blankets for movie nights, extra towels, big floaty things for playing off the pier in summer, and other small touches that can make all the difference in creating your happy, memorable experience.  

NOTE: There is another romantic, getaway suite on your floor as well as other accommodations in the house, so while you have your own completely separate space, you may occasionally hear the owner or other guests. However, this has been the case for 14 years and we've always received stellar reviews.

Before going up the steps to your lockable, private suite, you'll come in through a spacious, cathedral-ceilinged entry foyer with stunning front door and double-sided fireplace. Please note that this area is common to the owners’ home downstairs.

Shawn’s place is a slice of heaven for anyone in need of solitude and serenity! From the moment I arrived, I immediately felt at ease! Shawn was warm and kind and I loved being greeted by my other furry host Winnie too. The property with a private pier and beautifully manicured garden and lawn boasts lots of outdoor seating to enjoy views of the bay. Once inside my suite, the furnishings, amazing bathroom with soaking tub, and attached balcony to enjoy the waterfront views took my breath away! The two days I spent in my comfy suite gave me the downtime to sleep, watch a few shows on Netflix, and enjoy my meals ands cups of coffee without ever needing to leave the space. Shawn’s suite was well equipped with everything any guest would need—- towels, robes, toiletries, candles, coffee pods, condiments, plates, and cookware should anyone want to prepare a meal. I loved the proximity to the nearby grocery store and local Sushi restaurant I checked out! My stay was beyond restorative!

My husband and I had the perfect child-free weekend getaway at the Sunrise Suite at Chesapeake Paradise. The suite is stunning with a mini kitchen area, electric fireplace, spacious balcony and a massive primary bath (with a rain shower & deep soaking tub). We never wanted to leave! We also loved taking the provided canoe out for a peaceful paddle. Evenings were spent stargazing in the hot tub. This entire place was exactly what we needed. We’re ready to plan our return! Shawn is also an incredible host! Very responsive, thoughtful, and full of great local tips (though we mostly stayed put soaking in the tranquility). The place is spotless, well-stocked, and clearly created with love. Any shared-space sounds were minor and never bothered us.

Everything about this stay was superior. From the time I made the reservation until our departure, my husband and I were made to feel special. The accommodations could not have been more beautiful; the view from our suite was breathtaking. You can definitely tell that a lot of thought and love were put into every room of the house and surrounding grounds.The hostess was very helpful with suggestions on places to go to eat and other activities in the area. Overall, if you're looking for a beautiful tranquil getaway, this is the place for you.

The sunrise views were really quite amazing! The grounds and creek are very nice, but since we visited in winter we just appreciated the huge windows and the bright, cozy, well-stocked, comfortable room. We also loved the huge bathroom and shower that got nice and hot. Shawn was very communicative and everything about our stay was smooth and easy.
