25 Jul 2025 Plan Your Stay
There’s something calming about packing when you know where you’re going will help you slow down and exhale. A trip to Chesapeake Paradise is all about ease—ease in your body, ease in your surroundings, and ease in your mind. But to get there, it helps to know exactly what to bring (and what you can leave behind).
Whether you’re staying in The Cottage, The Flat-Plus, The Sunrise Suite, or the Chesapeake Paradise House, this guide will help you arrive prepared, lighthearted, and fully ready to enjoy your bayfront stay.
Once you arrive, we want you to settle in. These simple items help guests ease into the cozy, casual rhythm of Chesapeake Paradise:
Layered clothing — Mornings and evenings by the water can be cooler than expected. Think sweaters, wraps, and comfortable long sleeves.
Indoor lounging wear — Cozy socks or slippers, yoga pants, or that one outfit that makes you feel totally at home.
Comfortable walking shoes — For strolling the grounds, heading to the dock, or exploring Deale.
Each space is stocked with soft, clean linens and towels, so you can skip the bulky extras and trust that you’ll be cozy here.
We’re right on the water, and many guests love spending time outside soaking in the natural beauty. Here’s what can enhance those moments:
Swimsuit — For hot tub dips or warm-weather swims off the dock.
Water shoes or sandals — Especially if you’re kayaking or exploring the shoreline.
Sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen — Bayside breezes can sneak up on you.
Bug spray (optional) — We do our best to keep bugs at bay, but it’s always good to be prepared if you're out at dusk.
In cooler months, consider a cozy jacket or shawl for evenings around the firepit.
In summer, a refillable water bottle and cooling towel might come in handy.
There are outdoor chairs, decks, kayaks, and open spaces already here waiting for you—no need to pack gear unless you have a favorite.
This trip isn’t just about getting away—it’s about reconnecting with yourself and the people you love. Bring what helps you slow down:
A favorite book or journal
Your knitting, sketchpad, or other creative outlet
Portable speaker (if you plan to play music indoors) — Just be mindful of shared outdoor spaces.
Meditation tools or yoga mat — The decks and waterfront areas make for perfect sunrise practices.
Many guests also say they love how this place encourages doing nothing at all. So if you bring just yourself and an open schedule, you’ll be more than ready.
While these aren’t must-haves, here are some thoughtful extras that past guests have said made their stay even better:
Grocery staples or specialty foods — Especially if you have dietary needs or plan to cook often. (There’s a well-stocked local store just a few minutes away.)
Board games, puzzles, or card decks
Binoculars or a camera — For birdwatching and those golden-hour views.
One of the best parts about staying at Chesapeake Paradise is how much is already here for you.
All bed linens and fresh towels
Fully equipped kitchens — Including cookware, dishes, silverware, basic spices, and coffee makers
Filtered water
Toilet paper, paper towels, and basic cleaning supplies
Hot tub access (where applicable)
Fast Wi-Fi in all homes
Outdoor seating, firepits, and kayaks
There’s also a welcome email and manual waiting in your inbox after booking, with specific details for your suite or house—including entry instructions and local tips.
At Chesapeake Paradise, we believe in keeping things simple, intentional, and meaningful. That includes your packing list. There’s no need to bring your whole life with you—just bring what helps you rest, breathe, and reconnect.
Leave room in your bag (and your mind) for what really matters: quiet mornings on the dock, cozy evenings by the fire, and the chance to fully exhale.
