A Room-by-Room Tour of the Chesapeake Paradise House

25 Jul 2025    Inside Chesapeake Paradise

Welcome to Your Home Away from Home

When you cross the threshold into the Chesapeake Paradise House, you’re not just entering a home — you’re stepping into a carefully curated space designed for comfort, connection, and inner calm.

Whether you’re here for a solo sabbatical, a family vacation, a women's retreat, or a corporate offsite, this home adapts to meet your needs. Every room is intentionally furnished with function, beauty, and warmth in mind — offering spaces to gather, retreat, create, and rest.

Let’s walk you through the Chesapeake Paradise House room by room — so you can feel what it’s like to stay here before you even arrive.

The Living Room – Where Everyone Gathers

Walk into the main living space and you’ll instantly feel why guests call it the heart of the home. This bright, spacious area opens to panoramic windows overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, with light pouring in from sunrise to sunset.

The large sectional invites you to sprawl out for games, reading, or shared meals around the coffee table. Nearby, soft armchairs offer a quiet corner to journal or sip tea while watching ospreys glide by.

It’s an open floor plan that flows into the kitchen and dining area, making it perfect for casual togetherness during retreats and family gatherings alike. There’s no TV in the main living room — and that’s by design. It creates space for real connection and the kind of conversations you remember long after the trip ends.

The Kitchen – A Hub for Hospitality

If the living room is the heart of the home, the kitchen is its soul.

This full-sized, fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to cook real meals for large groups — or to assemble simple snacks while catching up around the island. You’ll find plenty of counter space, a big farmhouse sink, and cabinets stocked with cooking tools, pantry staples, and thoughtful extras like teas, oils, and condiments.

The adjacent dining area features a long wooden table with bench and chair seating — roomy enough to seat 8–10 people comfortably. It’s where many retreat meals are shared, laughter flows easily, and games or puzzles often stretch late into the night.

Everything in this kitchen says: stay awhile, cook with love, gather fully.

The Bedrooms – Thoughtfully Designed for Rest

The Chesapeake Paradise House offers 6–7 bedrooms depending on your rental configuration, each designed to give guests both comfort and a sense of calm. Here’s a closer look:

The Sunrise Suite (Private Primary)

Located on the top floor with sweeping water views, this private suite is a guest favorite. The king bed faces a wall of windows overlooking the bay, and a full ensuite bathroom with soaking tub and shower adds an extra level of retreat luxury. There’s also a sitting area and writing desk, perfect for early morning reflection or quiet evening journaling.

The Queen Room

Located near the main living space, this simple, airy bedroom features a queen bed, white linens, and a large window with a peek of the bay. It’s ideal for early risers or anyone who wants easy access to the kitchen and living areas.

Twin Bedroom(s)

Several of the bedrooms are configured with twin or trundle beds, making them ideal for kids, friends, or retreat roommates. Each is furnished with cozy bedding, bedside lights, and dressers or hooks for storage — offering a balance of privacy and simplicity.

Private Entrances & Flexible Layouts

The house also includes two private-entry suites: one with a kitchenette and king bed, the other with its own lounge and desk area. These suites offer additional flexibility for longer stays or guests who want added separation.

The Bathrooms – Clean, Spacious, and Guest-Ready

With 4 full bathrooms spread throughout the house, you’ll never feel crowded — even with a full group. Bathrooms are located on every level and near all bedrooms for easy access.

You’ll find:

One guest called the upstairs tub “a sanctuary with a view.” Whether you're getting ready for the day or winding down after sunset, these bathrooms help you feel cared for.

The Outdoor Spaces – Water Views, Firelight & Fresh Air

Bayfront Deck and Dining Area

The main deck spans the back of the house and looks directly out over Rockhold Creek and Herring Bay. It features lounge seating, a dining table for 6–8, and outdoor string lights for ambiance. It’s perfect for morning coffee, shared meals, yoga sessions, or group discussions during retreats.

Fire Pit and Lawn

Down the back steps, a large waterfront lawn leads to a cozy firepit circle with Adirondack chairs. This is where stories are told, stars are watched, and marshmallows are roasted. Guests often report that this is where some of their favorite retreat moments unfold.

Private Dock & Water Access

Chesapeake Paradise includes a private dock — perfect for launching kayaks, dipping your toes, or simply sitting quietly by the water. (Just be sure to wear life vests and observe safety guidelines.)

Shared Retreat-Friendly Spaces

The “Group Room”

A bonus room with flexible seating, whiteboard, and floor cushions makes for a great spot for workshops, yoga, or group circles. The openness of the space makes it easy to customize for different retreat needs — or to simply offer overflow space for large families.

Reading & Writing Spots

Desk nooks, window benches, and quiet corners throughout the house provide spaces to reflect, create, or just be still. These little hideaways make it easy to say “yes” to solitude — even with a full house.

Final Thoughts from the Host

Hosting guests at the Chesapeake Paradise House is about more than providing a beautiful space — it’s about creating a home for the breakthroughs, the bonding, the belly laughs, and the soul-level rest that our fast-paced lives so rarely allow.

Every room in this house was designed with intention — to hold you, support you, and invite you to slow down, breathe deeper, and feel more like yourself again.

Whether you’re staying for one night or one month, my hope is that this home gives you exactly what you need. You're always welcome here.
